Beads, beads and more beads

Last Friday I went to the Melbourne Bead show in Moorabbin, what a selection available, as you can see I came away with enough to keep me going for quite some time. This is just a small sample of what I bought. I'll have to start making and selling more things to recoupe my costs. It's very addictive, you HAVE to have one of these and one of those and that one over there. Thank heaven it only happens once a year, I don't think I could keep up.

I said good bye today to my last book in our marathon altered book round robin. It's titled 'Faces' and belongs to the very talented Karen. It's now on it's way home after travelling Australia and the US for the past eighteen months. My book should arrive home later in the week. I'm getting very excited. I'll be able to show it to you in all it's glory soon and not little peaks. That being said, the little peaks above are from my pages in Karen's book.

Don't you love round robins? Those colors are so cool! I love them. And I know what you mean about beads... I don't go to the bead store as much as I used to. Waiting until the charge card is paid off and then... woohoo!

(i'm bad, i know)

Addictive stuff, beads. My sister and I started doing some projects with them a few years ago... now she has so many of them, and all the equipment to make her own "anything" jewelry ...tumblers and lapidary saws, silver, gold, precious gems...etc. We've had great times at shows, but she scares me!!!!:))))

Oh Ro... I love the pages for Karens journal. Such rich and vibrant colours and the sari silks...love it!!!
The beads are gorgeous (and yes, collecting them is addictive...). There is a beautiful bead shop at Pakenham which is worth visiting next time you are heading out Traf. way. I will give you the address next week. Soooo looking forward to my journal class with you.

I was always wanting to get a sneak peek when the books hit Ursula's and Megan's turn. It will be exciting for us onlookers to see... I can only think that it must have a whole heap more emotion for the participants to be ending the journey and receiving their books returned.
