More on Etsy

SOLD

This is my latest necklace to go on my Etsy store. It has a sewing theme with my hand made fabric beads and an old wooden cotton reel encased in a soft mesh. There is an old piece of tape measure behind the frame element. I've also added a small fabric book that has fabric pages. There's a very old tiny wired globe too and some lovely old buttons.

These are hand wired embellishments that can be used in jewellery making or can be added to journals.
These are in my Etsy store.

This one is hand wired sea glass

This has soldered edges.

This is a wired vintage button

Two more hand carved stamps on Etsy.

I was the lucky winner of a wonderful pack of photos when I left a comment on Azirca's blog recently.
Thank you so much Azirca they are beautiful. I was so inspired I decided to play around with a couple of my photos in Photoshop.

This is the original photo.

Taken into Photoshop, cropped and added filters and a frame.

I haven't thanked the lovely ladies who attended my last decorated papers/journal workshop recently.
Two came all the way from Western Australia to attend the Creative Soul retreat and asked if I could hold a workshop for them, they were all so productive and completed their papers and journals.

Busy in class.

Caught in action.

Butter wouldn't melt in our mouths.

These are just two of the pages in a beautiful journal that Shirley, one of the students form WA made for me. It's divine with all of these lovely stitched pages, something I'll treasure.

Another mixed bag

I've been busy trying to add new things to my Etsy store, it's a very time consuming process. Here are just a few of the things, I will be adding more over the next few days.

This is a necklace I made recently, its colour theme is teal and silver.

This is a close up of some of the drops.

This is a small journal I've made, it has lots of decorated pages but plenty of room for you to add your own art or to journal.

The last image is the cover with a fabric spine.

One of my favourite designs is the pomegranate stamp SOLD.

This one's a Japanese blossom stamp.

I'm slowly adding things to my store. I'm also experimenting with new jewellery after taking Susan's workshops. So much to do with so little time. I spent quite a large portion of yesterday painting the princess wall, it's slowly growing, my little adviser wasn't happy with two of the faces, so I ended up painting them out, I will start them again next week.

Thanks again for all of your kind comments, I'm hoping April will be a little less hectic but it probably won't be.

Healing art

Thank you so much everyone for your kind words again regarding my dear mother, I'm sorry I haven't been able to get back to you all, your words are very much appreciated. My father's doing OK, his strength at the funeral amazed us all, so much so that my brother, sister and I were able to deliver the eulogy without totally falling apart.
A couple of days after the funeral I attended Creative Soul Retreat, not far from home and took four classes from the wonderfully talented Susan Lenart Kazmer, this certainly took my mind off things for awhile. I also taught at one of the night classes. All I can say is if you're interested in making jewellery and get a chance to take a class from SLK, it's more than worth it. She's a fabulous teacher and soooo generous with her techniques and ideas. Her lovely sister Cheri was her assistant so we all had a ball. I'm still working on my projects so will show them at a later date.

Our own Judy Wilkenfeld was teaching too.

Laurie Mika and Jan Harris also came out from the US to teach. They are both fabulous ladies, their students work was amazing. I didn't manage to get a photo with Jan but was lucky enough to sit next to her at lunch on one of the days. She makes beautiful silver jewellery and was very interesting, I really enjoyed our conversation.
It was great to catch up with some of the ladies I'd met at past retreats and also to meet new ones from all over the country. A big thanks to Bevlea Ross and her helpers Eva and Lucy for making it all possible.

I'll post some art soon.

A very special lady

Thank you for all of your kind words over the past few weeks regarding my ailing Mother. She passed away in the early hours of Thursday morning. My brother, sister, sister in law and I were at her bedside for her remaining hours with us. We didn't want her to leave this world on her own in an empty room. She was one very special lady and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

New stamps

Again I would like to thank everyone for your kind comments and concerns for my mother. She is in interim care at present until they can decide what permanent level of care she requires, she's having difficulty breathing so is back on oxygen. We just take one day at a time.

I've been busy carving some new stamps which I've added to my etsy store.

I usually carve the poppy seed head but decided to carve the flower for this one.

Another abstract tree

I decided to try mushrooms as well.

And now the update of the Princess wall, I hope to have it finished within the next couple of weeks.

The princess herself enters the room

and offers RoRo lots of advice.

that's it for another week.

This is what's on my jewellery table, I'll show you later what becomes of it all.

These are some of my hand made fabric beads and my hand made chain.
There's enough here to make three more necklaces.
I sold one at Antipodes today so I will have to get busy again.
