On the few rare occasions that I succumb to watch television (Midsomer Murder's, Silent Witness and Grand Designs), when they're on, I hate sitting hand's free. So now all three shows are on at the moment I've been getting back to my scumbling, a combination of knitting and crotchet and I've taken mine a step further by now adding needle felting to some of the pieces. I'm not sure what it will be but I'm enjoying the process.
As some of you have joined me in Emma's birthday postcard swap, I thought I'd show you Emma's gorgeous collage card that arrived during the week. Emma's opening one a day on her blog so it's well worth a visit to see all the wonderful array of cards she's receiving.

Wow! Another new word-scumbling! Fascinating the things I learn while bloghopping. I too hate to just watch TV and not be doing something with my hands! :^) My TV is in my craft room and whenever the TV is on, I am very creative!
Once again I've learned something new from you, scumbling, never heard of it before. Beautiful intricate patterns, it's going to be fun to see where you go with this :-) Love the collages so I'm off to check out Emma's website.
Scumbling is new to me too and oh how beautiful your work is! Your colours are amazing as usual, Ro. I'm intrigued to see how this proceeds.
Ok !! You ahve got me stumped several times over!! The word for one and the process for another. What comes first the knit bits or the crochet or the felted bits or is it all put together with crochet?? however you do it, It is SOOO YOU!!! the colors the design and all of the details- i love it!!!

I love your scumbling - I once made a cardigan like that after reading a book by Jan Messent called 'Wool 'n Magic'. It gives such magical results and yours is so 'happy', just like your journal pages. It's also a great way to use up small quantities of wool which might otherwise be wasted.
Leave it to you to come up with scrumptious scrumbling, Ro! Difficult to resist when you love color and textures and much as I do. And the postcards are fabulous! Thanks for sharing. Big hug back to you!!! Terri xoxo

Looks great! A few years ago I started some scrumbling projects but never really finished them. For a while I added some of them to quilts.
Your scumbling is fabulous! It doesn't have to be anything--it makes me smile just the way it is.
This is so interesting! I have never seen anything like this. You create with yarns in a similar fashion like with paint. It's amazing!

my eight year old sidekick is very impressed with the scumbling. I don't knit but she has just learned to finger knit.

Scumblicious! I can almost feel them. I discovered Midsomer Murders last year - they are available through Netflix in the US. I went in search of SIlent Witness, found one full episode at one site - takes a long time to buffer through but now I want more!!
Your 'scumbling' is beautiful and interesting - I like that a lot! Please don't switch off the TV ;-)!
