I've started to stitch and add beads and felt motives to the piece in the previous post. I'm going to add washers and beads to the centres of the circles.
I also made some silk paper to add to my journals.
These are fabric and decorated paper pages waiting to be turned into another journal.
Above are some of the fabric stitched pages.
We've finally found a wonderful aged care facility for my eighty eight year old father. It's taken so long. He's been in hospital for over fourteen weeks. My sister and I moved him into the home last week, he has a fabulous room and the facility really encourages family participation in all things. He's only been there a few days and we've noticed his walking has improved already. The home is close to my sister so she drops in each day to visit him. He looks rather apprehensive in this photo as he's about to leave hospital. He seems quite settled now, we just hope it lasts.
I had another wonderful group of students on Saturday attend my Junk Journal workshop. It was a hive of activity sorting and assembling junk papers and then binding them into a journal. The covers take the most time as the process involves using moulding paste and lace or stencils, this then has to dry and be painted. The results were fabulous, each one totally unique.

Finding a great facility for our aging loved ones is a major challenge, so glad that you were able to find one for your precious Dad.

Journal bliss Ro - your pages are gorgeous as usual. Great news about your Dad - what a lovely photo of him, still handsome at 88. I wish him well and hope he settles happily in his new surroundings.
You are very busy...must be in one amazing creative flow! Love what you are doing with the journal and your teaching looks like a great event and thankfully your handsome father has found a place to live safely. Have a good week!
Ro, I'm so happy to hear that your Dad is settled in a lovely, nurturing place. It's been a tough go for you and your sister.
What can I say about your journal pages that I haven't said before?!? They're fabulous. How I wish I could attend one of your workshops!!! Hugs, Terri xoxox
Your wonderful workshops make me wish I lived in your country and not on the other side of the world! I'm glad you've got your Dad settled, he looks good for 88. I have a friend who is 99 and she is in hospital after a fall but is quite well just a little sore. She is getting closer to needing residential care but she is resisting all the way!
I am so thrilled for you and your family, that you ahve found a good spot for your DAd!! What a relief that must be for all of you!!!

Hi Ro
Such a beautiful post full to the brim with eye candy. Love your new journal pages (am salivating here). And your students look like they had a wonderful and productive day.
So please you have found somewhere for your dear dad. It sounds like he will be very well looked after there. Great that it is so close to your sister too.

O what fun! I wish I could have been there. I so much love to look at your journals, they are so full of color and wonderfulness. I have tried to do this but am coming to the conclusion it is just not my cup of tea. I don't like much of what i have done and it doesn't come easy. so I will just enjoy others work and drool a bit when I see yours. thanks for sharing. I hope your father continues to settle in well and will be happy in his new place.
Wonderful felt work and another fabulous Journal, Ro. Glad to hear that your dad is doing well.
Oh, you guys have more fun. The textiles are wonderful. And your father looks so nice. I sure hope he will be happy and settled now. I know this part can be difficult for each of you. xo
Hello my friend, long time no write :-) sorry, I haven't been around for a while.
Glad to hear you have a nice place for your dear Dad:-)
Beautiful work by your students, as usual, they are so lucky to have you to teach and guide them :-)
Love the new look of your blog also,
cheers,

Your journal pages are fabulous. Wish I lived closer so I could take one of your very creative looking classes.
Oh my Ro........you are such an inspiration. I have been dying (no pun intended) to learn some felting. I would live to take a workshop with India Flint. She is in your neck of the woods I believe.
Your new work is amazing! I love the brooches. A different medium, but so YOU!!!
Glad that your father is doing better. It makes me happy.
No art making here. Just sketches now and then.
Love from the other side of the world......Karen
the journal is such a thing of beauty and I love the way the felt is moving -
glad you are more settled about your dad
Ro, that class looks so much fun. I'm planning on stitching up a journal and wish I could be there to take it!!
It's really good about your dad. I like that they encourage family to be there and contribute. This is a really important part of your lives with him, and I wish you the best.
Your work is soooo beautiful. I have become a follower so I don't miss a thing :-) Wish I lived nearby so I could attend one of your wonderful workshops.
Your work is so lovely and the ladies did an incredible job. I am happy your dad is settled now and doing better. Take care
Yummy yummy journaling! Glad your dad is doing better - my mom is 89 and we can't get her to stop driving.
Divine images! Your workshops always look so inspiring.
Ro, I'm glad your dad is settling in. It's such a worry to find the right facility for one's aging parents.
Finally catching up with all the lovely things you've been doing - love your journal, especially that silk paper, delicious! Your playday felt was gorgeous & wonderful richness in your pomegranite card. I'll be visiting SM's site again soon.
Glad your Dad is settled & you're getting some peace of mind.
I love all your felt and fabric -- they make such colorful textures..and to turn them into beautiful journals- very nice.
HI, as always I love your journals. Could you please record one of your live workshops and make a DVD for those of us who can not attend a live workshop! I live in the US, and as much as I would like to travel to take a class, that is just not possible right now. But I would love to support you from a-far :)
Thanks for posting such wonderful art!
Dear Ro, I am so glad you found a place for your dad that you love... and I love the photo's of the messy table filled with art supplies and all those busy hands. Your creativity is boundless and the work you share is always so beautiful! roxanne
Thanks everyone for your kind comments. I haven't had time to visit everyone's blogs but I'm hoping now dad's settled things might get back to a little normality. Rochelle, I hope to teach on line workshops next year if that's any help.
oh your felting and silk paper and journal pages take my breath away! Gorgeous things you are working on.
