Stamps and Fabrics

I finally made time to carve some more stamps, three of them are now in my Etsy store as well as some more packs of sun printed fabrics.

A series I'm making called simple folk.

Abstract flower

Another abstract flower

Another fabric pack

And another

Summer here has been late arriving but boy has it arrived with a vengeance, hence all of the sun printing, 39 deg c yesterday, 40 deg c 104 deg f today and then within ten minutes it's dropped to 26 deg c, that's Melbourne for you, take your coat to work just incase. Tomorrow's another day.
As if Queensland hasn't suffered enough with the floods, they are now waiting for a cyclone to hit the very north of the state, they forecast it to be one of the worst on record, Thursday morning will tell.

Good Luck to anyone living up there, who stops by here, we'll be thinking of you.

This guy's a regular visitor to our garden along with his friends, he's a black cockatoo. They sit in the tree in the photo and crack open the rock hard seed pods with their very strong beaks. They eat the seed in the middle, then drop the rest onto the metal roof of the shed below, it sounds like a hail storm.

Hi Ro, love the photo of the black cockatoo. Your stamps and fabric are lovely! I remember the heat in Melbourne, like an oven, here in Brisbane it is so much more humid. I too am thinking of the folk up north and the predicted cyclone..... it is like the world has gone a bit mad. All the best, Karen

Love those little people! I'm doing a 10 week printmaking course & find it so difficult to get my head round the image being opposite to what you were drawing to start with. Makes it all more exciting!

That cockatoo is a big feller! The biggest birds we get are crows and seagulls. Your stamps and fabrics are great - at least you have made use of all that sunshine and heat. We are still shivering and looking forward to spring. Hope the cyclone loses it's way and veers off to somewhere it can do no harm.

The colours of the fabric are so vibrant- fabulous. Like your stamps too Ro. great stuff!
Yes the weather patterns are unpredictable and nerve wracking. Your cockatoo is huge. We have the rainbow lorikeets visiting - about twenty of them raid the almond tree as do the white cockatoos. This in the heart of the city - unbelievable.

Fantastic stamps Ro and I love your sun printed fabric. I found the paint in Spotlight the other day and can't wait to have a go myself. I would love to come and have a class with you too, I will keep an eye out for your next one.
The weather has been crazy Yesterday, my office air conditioning wasn't working and I felt every bit of the 40 deg heat. Luckily today it is cooler. You're right, thats Melbourne for you

Hi Ro,
Just love your new stamps, hope you're having a great time with everything.
I am keeping in touch with Mum as she is waiting in Mackay to see what the cyclone will do to her area. She had to evacuate yesterday after putting everything up high in case of floods. She lost everything 3 yrs ago to the same thing, but this cyclone is bigger.

Yes, good luck to those in the north. Seems your land has been hit hard with water, and last year (was it last year?) with the dry land and so many fires near you? Love the stamps. Friends and I will be creating stamps this month. I love your flowers!

I always love the abstract flowers...

as for cockies, there is a flock of sulphur crested that moved in to devour a nearby fruit tree - the noise!

happy noise though, and much preferred to planes.
