It's on again

I'm not sure how many of you have been watching the news and if you even see it in other parts of the world, but Australia is under fire again, literally, this time in NSW. It's still only spring and New South Wales is having it's worst bush fires in decades. High temperatures, hot northerly winds and no rain are making conditions impossible for fire fighters to get the fires under control, they predict they could last for weeks. So many homes have been lost, fortunately there's been no loss of life to date, we can only hope that continues. If you are able to help the Salvos are doing a great job http://salvos.org.au

More photos of the devastation can be seen here on the ABC's news website.

These awful fires have featured in our UK news - the reality must be terrifying. Keep safe everyone. My thoughts are with those who have lost their homes and possessions.

It didn't sound too good on the UK news this morning. Hope you and yours are safe.

Yes Ro, I am in UK and do follow the news about the fires. There is now fear that the 3 separate ones will merge into one and cause a mega fire. My thoughts are with you all in Australia... Let's hope they get the fire down soon!

It's a disaster. I have friends so close they are living in constant smoke...and prepared to evacuate. My heart goes out to all who have lost their homes. Thank heavens for the volunteer agencies so willing to help..AND the firies, who put their lives on the line every day.

Both our states know what horrific bush fires are like(Victoria, and SA-Ash Wednesday 1983),and Tas, and Canberra! I hope the fires die down soon.
