Drawer fetish

I have to confess, I have this drawer fetish. My studio has a myriad of sets of drawers, wooden, metal, plastic, even cardboard.
The photos show my latest collection, they are very tiny, ideal for all my small elements and found objects. I started out with one set as they were very cheap in price and quality, but once I realized how useful they were I had to have more. For you Aussies and New Zealanders out there, I bought them at the Wharehouse, a chain that sells pretty much everything very cheap, the quality is not always brilliant though. These were originally $9.50 AU dollars, but I bought them on special for $2.50. Needles to say they are almost full of my little treasures.

I also have photos of my latest jewellery that I'll be adding to my Etsy store today

Here's a couple of photos of my jewellery desktop, the drops lined up are ready to be assembled into a new necklace. The other photo is typical of the things I collect, these are very, very old buttons. I've used a couple in the copper earrings above.

I thought it was about time I added some artwork as well as jewellery, which seems to have taken over my life at present.
Here's a page from my latest altered book, I'll probably add images to the pages later.

And finally, do I hear a cheer, this is a site I meant to mention on my last entry. They are trying to get like minded blogs from around the world out there. They contacted me and asked if I'd mind if they did an entry about my blog, to which I agreed. Here's the link Queen Kat's bloggers club They are doing a great job.

Sorry one last thing. Thanks to the lovely Judy Scott and the very talented Waltraud for both nominating me for 'You make my day' award
I would like to nominate all the blogs I visit on a daily basis, you're all wonderful artists and blogger friends. I promise I'll go now. See ya.

Love the clear, see-thru drawers with the light shining through them in the window. Looks like a real treasure trove!

I'd never get anything done with all those gizmos to sort through. It looks like so much fun.

Oh Me too! Drawers everywhere, drawers forever. I haven't seen those ones at the warehouse, but then not all warehouses carry the same stuff, which is a pity. I've been enjoying looking at your jewellery, looks like you've been very busy.

What is it with drawers? I have a thing for them myself. I especially like antique boxes with drawers - just something about them, a place to keep all of my treasures!

Beautiful jewelry - the soldered pendant with the hearts is just lovely.

I want to reach through the screen and touch all your goodies.

I really do.

What wonderful drawers...

and those earrings are wonderful, I wish I could wear them (my ears have now rejected everything except gold).

Just what I have been looking for - clear drawers. Now I wonder where they would sell such things in the US. I will google. Thanks for the great idea. Much fun to see your jewelry. I esp love what you do with objects like stones.

Love the drawers!! I really need to do that - organize my stuff. It's running wild in my studio and I fear it will take over!

It's nice to read that other's have the same afflictions, as an addiction to drawers, compartments of any kind.
Your jewelry is phenomenal can't wait to see those finished necklaces. I missed the last one I went in to buy. The journal page color layout is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Ro
I think it must be a textile thing or something, I love little drawer sets, I'm always on the look out for different ones.
Great earrings, are they long?
I really do love your altered books, it's on my 'to do' list to have a go, but I'm sure my mind would go blank as soon as I had one in front of me.
Sorry I made you home sick on my latest posts, just remember the rain and those bitter winter winds!!

Hi Ro,

Must be the time to get organised!!...
Isn't it wonderful when you spend time setting things up differently how you get really enthused again about using all your "stuff" to create new things...
Love the absolutely stunning collaged paper...I have started an altered journal journey for the first time, see my blog re...my disaster at using kids books..Looks like I'll be talking
to you soon about coming to one of your classes..

How do you ever get anything done with so much treasure to look at?! Everything you picture here -and I really mean everything - is just stunning. You are SO talented.

OMG I cannot tell you how much I adore those little drawers, I have a thing for them too, glad I'm not alone there!
As you know, I'm in New Zealand but my local Warehouse store doesn't stock them....waaaaaaaah! Which department did you find them in? storage, handyman etc? I'm sure I would have seen them if we had them over here. I just bought some giant drawers from the Warehouse, but the wee drawers are so cute! They look perfect for all of your little trinkets and treasures.

oh my gosh, that's a drawer fetish indeed!

I use the same storage as you for my beads... it really is the best as when you work you can pull out the drawers as you bead :)

Oooooh! If only I could shrink myself down and climb into those drawers...heaven! Your blog is a world of eye candy. I can't wait to come back to see more and more and more!
