Journal frenzy

I'm a bit sore and sorry at present, I had a tooth removed tonight and the injections wearing off, it hasn't stopped me from doing art though, they'd have to take my whole mouthful of teeth before that happens.

I've been so keen to start a new DJ journal using my colours and art. Last night I dyed a whole lot of fabrics and doilies in bright colours to use between signatures.

Decorated some papers using my stamps

Sketched some poppy seed heads, figs and flowers, then painted them with my Caran d'ache water colour crayons.
Cut them up and added them to my papers. I cut the daisy in half and used it on two pages.

I still have to make some more signature wraps and some more artwork for the pages, then assemble the journal. I really love all of the processes in these books, they're fun to make.

Dang, you make that look so fun. I can't believe you just whipped that out and with a mouth full of pain. Art soothes......yes it does.

Wonderful- love your colors and signature textures. So rich. Sorry about the tooth- I had one pulled this year too. No fun! :( I've been drooling (not from dental issues, from coveting) checking out the gorgeous jewelry in your Etsy shop.

Perfect timing! I'm making my next journal now and these are great ideas. I've seen one of DJ's sewn and collaged books and it was a wonder - just full of inspiration. What I really like though are the paintings you've done to add to the pages. I'm going to give that a shot. xo

You are amazing, Ro. I can't believe you did all that after oral surgery! But then I went back to work the day after my appendectomy. Would rather have done art. These are stunning. I love the dyed lace and doilies.

Ro - you are a creative demon! I admire how you create with gusto.

And I love your latest version of DJ's journal. The colors are so vibrant and so you. I can just imagine you have fun dying all the fabrics and doilies.

Hope your mouth is feeling much better. Not nice to have a tooth removed but good to have it out if it was causing you pain.

Looking forward (very much ) to the vintage journal class.

Hope your mouth is more comfortable by now - I'm going to the dentist tomorrow, but only for a check up. Thankyou for the kind comment you left on my blog. I have only just discovered altered books and still have much to learn but love doing them. I wish I could use colour the way you do. I am largely self taught and sometimes think I try to 'run before I can walk'. I am going to take another look at your glorious colourful posts.

Fantastic pages, you'll have to go to the dentist more often LOL, seriously though I hope it's not too sore for the next few days.
Thanks for dropping in on my blog, great to see you there.
