Canvas workshop

These are some of the stages of the development of the painted, collaged canvas that I'll be teaching in my next workshop from home on Saturday August 8th.

The colours aren't my usual choices, but I thought I would challenge myself.

They started to get warmer as the canvas progressed.

The finished canvas, I like to take the design around the edges of the frame too.

These are two new stamps I've added to my etsy site.

It's going to be a fantastic workshop and I love the canvas you show here. I would be scared of mucking mine up having painted and or printed a good layer, and then having to add more to it. However, as soon as I have time to play, I am determined to have a go myself. It's very generous of you to share your working methods with us - thankyou.

Hi Ro,
Thanks for the comment on my blog..
I am enjoying doing more backgrounds and journal pages, but now I have decided to throw out all my shabby chic roses.etc, old ribbon embroidery stuff, and completely redo my art/playroom into more basic white and lighter and brighter colours, and start a new chapter in my life..and now I am down with the flu talk about self sabotage/.//LOL..I love your basic canvas pics.. thanks for sharing..xx

Love it all. You have a marvelous sense of color, no matter where you push yourself. Going around the edges of the canvas is neat too. Makes the buyer feel like they've gotten even more beauty for their money! - Jeanne

Glad you liked the ragrug tutorial Ro and hope you find time to finish your rug on day, but you are a rather busy lady. I love your new stamps. Thanks for explaining about the comment from 'Chris' - my daughter does that to me sometimes!

Hi Ro,
Yes I thought I needed to make some changes in my life, and feel now it was worth it...
It's only one room so far, but it makes me feel so much lighter for some reason...
Prob not your colours, but I did get a bit of inspiration from your lovely lounge room sofas, have wanted to do it for years, and seeing your lovely warm and comfortable place made me think I could try..
I have signed up for your stamp making class next year with Bev, and am looking forward to it...xx
