New journal

I've just completed another hand made journal that I've added to my Etsy. There are 64 pages altogether, all decorated and some have my collage art on them. It measures 6 inches x 4 and 1/2 inches.

The cover is painted and then decorated using a similar technique to the one I learnt in DJ's class only I've added my own variation to it.

The following are pages showing some of the artwork and papers.

This is a necklace I completed over the weekend, it's now at Touchstone gallery in Olinda. I really have to get busy again with supplying the two galleries, they have very few pieces left.

I have also been colouring old lace doilies to use in my books and art, I love the vibrant mixture.

For a real treat visit Dneese and see what happened to all of the knitting we guerillas completed. She's amazing.

What have you used to colour your doilies? I have wanted to colour some to use in my sewing.

Your journal is a delight. It says summer, happiness and freedom to me. The doilies are such gorgeous colours and what a lovely way of rescuing them from being thrown out, now they are no longer fashionable. The necklace is beautiful too and I wish I had a young neck to show it off!

Gosh Ro, you must buy beads by the truckloads! But can you ever make lovely things out of them!

I never thought of painting lace doilies like that. What a clever idea.

Love your handmade book. I've slowed down on my journal making since summer arrived.

Wow, wow, wow! I went, just dreaming and probably a little too optimistically, to your Etsy to see if there was any chance of purchasing your journal and it seems to have sold as soon as you put it up! No wonder - it is breathtaking! Such beautiful work and brilliant talent!

I am just jumping back into blog visits after being gone again and having a hectic first week back. So, I'm off to enjoy more of what I've missed here - so much inspiration you offer, my head is spinning already!
