This is the new home of my fibres and sari silks. I have strung them from an old metal film reel that my lovely son-in-law found for me.
The ribbon reels are now housed on an old skirt, pants, tie rack, not sure what it is. I've had it for years and new it would come in handy for something one day.
Tonight was the first time I've done any art all week. I made some 'leather look' paper above and did some more gelatine printing below. I'll be putting together some paper and fabric kits in the new year to add to my etsy store. These can be made into small journals or used for collage and card making.
I'm going to over print this one as it's a little stark.
I'd like to thank you all so much for your lovely, encouraging words re my new career. It's something I've wanted to do for a long time now. I'm really looking forward to going to my studio each day rather than all of the travelling I've been doing over the past twenty years.
I'd like to wish you all seasons greetings and I hope you all have a very creative and happy 2011.

Good luck in your new venture Ro and merry Christmas to you and your family.
Well I thought that I was the only fool who was trying to sort out her studio on Christmas week but alas I have a friend.
I can now see the floor which is a miracle--haven't seen it since last Christmas.
Ro I hope you have a fabulous Christmas and that your new venture will be all that you wish for.
Hi Ro
You always seem to produce so much beautiful work whilst being busy with so many other things. Hope you get your studio just how you want it! I'm doing the same thing at the moment ... it will be worth it in the end
I hope you have a lovely Christmas and a very happy New Year. Thank you for all your lovely thoughtful comments and I always enjoy my visits to your blog :o)

It's bad enough emptying a drawer or cupboard, never mind a whole room. Stuff seems to multiply while you aren't looking, even after you have thrown some away. I love your prints and the colours of your paper and the storage ideas for fibres/yarns and ribbons are great. Happy Christmas.
Good Luck and good on you for going for it ..genius way of keeping skeins of wool ....have a happy holiday ........x
Always fun to see the lovelies you produce in your studio.
Happy holidays!!! Enjoy your new excitement and changes.
Like many of your regular readers, I wish you best of luck in the career move, but especially in the studio sort-out. I enjoy your colorful blog so much. Although our styles are different, you are such an inspiration! Thank you, and Happy New Year.

Have a very Happy Christmas Ro and I look forward to following your exciting new journey in the New Year. Thank you for the interest you have shown in my blog and your words of encouragement. I really appreciate it.
Merry Christmas Ro - the sari ribbon looks wonderful - I have bonded the hank to a backing and hopefully will get to the next stage today when I have been shopping.
Look forward to seeing what wonderful things you get up to next
Fabulous career change Ro! All the best for a wonderful Christmas and a great 2011.
Rearranging the creative work space is almost daunting and a bit scarey knowing what it involved - looks like you have done a great job - love all those sari ribbons hanging there ready! Have a very Joyous Christmas and may all of your beautiful creations continue to spill over into the New Year!
