Paintings and published

I'm very excited to have had one of my pieces of plaster work published in Judy Wise and Stephanie Lee's new book Plaster Studio. They are also running a fabulous online workshop using some of the techniques in the book, hop on over to either of their blogs to check it out.

This is my piece, a plaster book cover showing my abstract pomegranates.

This is the fabulous book, it is so full of techniques and projects.

I've also been busy painting for our upcoming exhibition. This is a painting I started in Flora Bowley's workshop. I finally finished it, it just needs a top coat of varnish and hangers on the back.

This is an earlier shot of the painting.

This is the finished painting named 'sheep at the waterhole'.

This is another canvas I completed this week too.

Another canvas in progress.

and finally I wish I could draw like this. My darling little mermaid princess, spent her fifth birthday painting with Ro Ro. Don't you just love her cat. I'm contemplating using it to make a stuffed toy for her.

Congrats on art in Wise/Lee book! Bravo to all three of you wonderful artists/inspirers of mine.
I love all the color and movement in your paintings!
And by all means turn that kitty drawing into a stuffed animal. She will treasure it. I have turned my grandkids' of same age's art into little quiltlets and they love them. Love seeing their art in a new form. I have a photo of my grand daughter stroking her castle turned into cloth.

I was just in Borders Bookstore yesterday during my lunchtime, saw the book, flipped through the pages and saw your piece . . . I felt immediate joy for you and of course purchased their book. You are an amazing and talented artist . . . I am just waiting for you to come out with a book or e-course! You have so much you could teach us all. Sending you love from Virginia Beach!

Goodness Ro, so much eye candy in one post! Those paintings you did inspired by Flora's class are amazing; she really taught me a lot of new avenues too.

And thank you for the shout out about the book. I LOVE the piece you submitted, you are on a roll! xo

I received my order last Friday of 3 books from Amazon and found your "pomegranate painting" in one of the books. It is amazing and how wonderful to be in such an amazing book. Congratulations. I can highly recommend any mixed media artist to buy this book, it has so many wonderful ideas to work and be inspired by.

Congratulations Ro on having your work published - I'm not surprised though. Your paintings are so uplifting - I love the way you use colour. I can see that your little princess has inherited Ro Ro's talent! I got one of my grandsons to use fabric crayons and ironed his drawings onto fabric and made them into a quilt for him. It was a great success as I am better at sewing than designing!

Congratulations, Ro!!! No one does pomegranates and color like you!!! Your wonderful use of color always energizes and inspires me. Love the idea of turning Little Princess' drawing into something real. What a keepsake that would be!!! Only a loving Grammy would think of such a thoughtful way of preserving a treasured childhood moment! Hugs, Terri xoxoxo

Congratulations on the book Ro, well deserved.
I just love your paintings, I was so bummed that I couldn't make that workshop with Flora.
The cat is so cute and I can see it as a stuffed toy

It's a beautiful cat Ro and I always wish I could let go and draw just like the kids do.
Congrats on being published again. Do I really need another creativity I wonder? Yes, I think I do after seeing your work and those lucious colours.

Firstly congratulations on one of your pieces being published in the book. It's great to know that so many more people will see & be inspired by your wonderful work.
I was sadden by the news of your father. I agree with your way of thinking and was glad to hear art is helping the healing process. You inspire me and you never fail to blow me away with your pieces and how prolific you are.... i admire the quantity & quality!
Good luck with your Exhibition. Ux

My copy of Plaster Studio hasn't arrived yet, but I saw your name in the contributing artists list for the book and got really excited. I love your abstract pomegranates.
And your paintings are gorgeous. I especially like the one from Flora's workshop. Oh how I'd love the chance to go on one of her workshops. Good luck with your exhibition.

Hi Ro
Dale Rollason from thethreadstudio.com told me about your blog. I live in England. I love your colours, I have never been to Australia but these colours are what I imagine it to be like. I am now going to be a follower, which I dont do very often! As a City & Guilds tutor it is wonderful to see original & inspiring work. Regards Shelagh Folgate

RO. Stop it! This work is amazing. I luv what you're doing. You got to take Flora's class, and now I'm totally INTO her work! I even refer to her on my latest post. a month ago, I didn't even know about her, and then read about her here.

Your lolipops are wonderful, don't force yourself to stop!

Thanks for the continuing inspiration.
