Sad, Sad day
It's amazing the difference a week makes. This time last week my sister took Dad to get a new pair of glasses. Wednesday he had a seizure and broke his wrist as he fell. He was rushed to hospital and put on all sorts of emergency equipment, his condition slowly deteriorated with him developing pneumonia. He passed away last night at 8.30pm. We were all by his side and hope now that he's peacefully resting beside Mum. He'd lived a good life and didn't suffer too long at the end, reaching the age of 89, I suppose that's all we can ask for, we'll still miss him dearly though.

Oh Dear Ro I am so so sorry to hear this news! Your heart will be breaking! It can happen just like that to anyone at any age but more likely when they reach that ripe old age. My dad is 90 and today is facing the possibility of getting help to breathe for his asbestosis - possibly oxygen at home.
It so sad! My thoughts are with you at this time! and I am sure all your blogging friends will you in their hearts.

I am so so sorry for the loss of your dad. 89 is a good ripe old age; but still...are we ever ready for this time of parting? I think not. For his sake and that of his family I'm glad it was quick. Hugs to you and yours.

Oh Ro so sorry, we have just been to the memorial service of a neighbour aged 88, he had a good life too, but has left a wife and family it is never easy.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss Ro. I lost a very special friend yesterday too, she was 99 years old and ready to go but we miss her very much. Such special people leave deep footprints in your heart. Take care of yourself and your family. x
(Hugs)It's never easy when they go, my Father was 87 and went in a similar way, I too was greatful that he was in my life as long as he was, but still miss him dearly 7 years on. Let the happy memories fill your mind to replace the sadness.
