A bit of everything

I've been busy this week finishing off my sample journal for the decorated papers and journal class I'll be teaching at the Queen of Arts retreat in April this year, there's still a couple of vacancies if you'd like to join us.

The finished cover of the journal

We will be adding inserts into the journal so you can add fabric pages, or anything else, at a later date. We won't have time to make the fabric pages in the class.

The other side of the sample fabric page showing the insert we will add.

another insert waiting for a fabric page or anything else you might like to add later.

a close up of the fabric and button spine

I taught a wonderful group of students a new 'junk journal' made from cards, cardboard, fabric scraps and decorated papers this week. It was great fun and they all went home with a journal that they can spend many happy hours adding to and decorating.

Packs of my hand dyed laces.

I've added some packs of my hand dyed lace to my Etsy store.
There are five lengths per pack each measuring a metre in length.
The lace is made in Denmark, in a variety of materials.

I've also added a new hand carved stamp to my Etsy

Phew I hope I haven't bored you to death with all of this. it's been a very busy week.

I for one certainly are not fed up with seeing the lovely work you do, I try to do it on my own but some how it never looks as lovely as yours do. Would love to go to the retreat but have other things on. Hoping that one day when I come to visit my son in Melbourne I can do a class with you.

Your posts are never boring Ro - how could they be? Your journal class looks such fun and I love the range of colours you have dyed for the lace packs.
Sadly I can't afford the air fare and would need bed and breakfast as well to attend your class!!

It was a fabulous workshop and a treat to see all your journal pages in real life. The colours just pop.
Now, where have those scissors gone? Maybe your snaps can give us a clue?

What a fantastic example of your journal work to take when you teach at the Queen of Arts workshop - It would be so wonderful to be there!
I love the insert idea to add pages to later or as you go.
DJ's sample journal too is superb and you'll get to see it in person as well - lucky you.
Your lace colours are beautiful Ro!
Love my stamp by the way!

Such a fantastic journal.
Thank you for your comment about how dry England seems at the moment.
England still looks green, but we need rain so badly, especially in the south east corner. We can only use watering cans from the 5th April, but catching shower water is one thing I will try. Thanks for the tip.
