I'm working on some collage, mixed media paintings to take with me to Berry in August, for the exhibition that will be held while I'm teaching there. I always forget to take photos of the progress, but this time I remembered. Here are some of the stages. The painting isn't finished yet as I leave it for a few days to go back and see it with fresh eyes. I'm adding sheep and cows to the paddocks. It's also my interpretation of the view from our back deck.
I start by gluing a range of papers to the canvas, then add washes of acrylic paint
I sketch in some of the features with paint
It's starting to take shape
Some of the details have been added.
There's still a way to go but I'll post a photo when it's finished.
Thanks for dropping by and for your lovely comments.

It's really lovely Ro - you will need to include a king parrot or a cocky!
Norma :-)
I love the way you have shown us the progress of this piece. It's fascinating to see the various stages of development. It's going to be another canvas of happiness.
Love this Ro. :)
That's inspiring! Love the layers.
i love this process Ro.....any chance that's in your schedule for Ballarat in 2015 ?
Thanks Teresa, no I won't be teaching the painting in Ballarat. I'm teaching making a fabric journal. We dye all of our fabrics, doilies, lace, thread and buttons then hand stitch and decorate the pages and turn them into a journal. The photos are on Fibre Arts website.
Lovely to see the process and the finished painting is amazing I love the colours so much.
