Mosaics

I've been so busy working on my ABRR that I haven't had time to create anything else in the past two days, so I thought I'd show some of my mosaic ladies.

Both of these have been sold, the gallery keeps asking for more but they are very labour intensive. You never get your money back for the hours of work that goes into them.

I enjoy creating them but until I have more time, I'll probably stick with my jewellery and altered books.

The bird bath was a present I made for one of my daughters. The ginger cat on the stand is her cat.

Oh Ro my jaw just dropped - these ladies are magnificent! I can see how they would take a lot of time. And the cat on the bird bath - gorgeous. I have boxes of tiles I have collected in my shed but so far have made one very basic paver for my garden.
Thanks for sharing Ro. I too am working on my ABRR book - and am loving it.

Your ladies are delightful. I have a weakness for mosaics but have never made anything. I spent hours on the beach in Portugal collecting bits of tiles etc. I was going to use them at the time, but never got around to it. you are an inspiration Ro.

Wow, Ro. You have certainly been a busy lady while I have been away.

Your mosaics are beautiful. No wonder they want more. How tall are they?

The pages look beautiful as well.

Wish I had more time to write. So much catching up to do!

Ro - I should come here more often, beacuse you always have so many luscious posts full of color and beauty and I just never know where to start! These mosaic pieces are amazing... the ladies are delightful and the birdbath is gorgeous. Those must take so much patience to do:> I am also enthralled by your journal pages... I sure wish I could take a class with you!

You MUST continue to make more of these! They are INCREDIBLE, and so unique. It certainly shows that they are labor-intensive, and I agree..one can never be reimbursed for the amount of time and labor involved in making a piece of artwork. Only another artist could truly appreciate the effort.
