I've worked like crazy over the past two days, tearing up fabric strips, laying and pinning the design out, all ready to take in the car with me for our two hour trip to visit friends on New Years Eve. All in vain, my husband came down with a very nasty chest infection, causing the cancellation of our planned trip. Alas we had a very quiet celebration at home which enabled me to complete the preliminary stitching of the quilt. I'll probably leave it for awhile to decide what additional stitching or embellishment I'll add to it. I was pleased with the 'aged ' look of the fabrics. I might even add very old linen buttons here and there.

Love the quilt! Sorry about your husband's illness. Have fun with the gelatin printing. I found it to be one of the most fun art projects I've done. I still have printed paper to use up in a project. Maybe this holiday weekend! Happy new year!
So sorry your husband is ill - the cold/flu bugs seem to be global - our son had one just before Christmas and our son-in-law has been ill since Boxing Day. I love the vintage look of your quilt - the subtle colours are beautiful. Hope 2011 will bring happiness and good health to you and yours.

I LOVE the torn strip woven method taht youa re using- perfect for these fabrics.!! I hope that Steve can get past his virus quickly- we have all ahd it here and it takes ages for tall of the coughing and goo to go away!!!

Oh, Ro, this is wonderful. It's so pretty and detailed and perfectly squared, I think. That's a LOT of work! It looks like something one can become completely absorbed in and even addicted to! (speaking for myself, of course)

Hi Ro. I hope Steve is feeling much better. Sounds like he has had a nasty run of illness over Christmas and the New Year. Your quilt is looking gorgeous. Love the subtle colors and aged look. Beautiful work.Count me in on the gelatin class in February (as long as it is after Feb 15 I would love to do it).
