Can't see the forest for the Lollipop trees

Still working like crazy creating and completing projects for the exhibition. I've been making brooches from embellished felt and guess what shape they turned out. I can't seem to get away from my lollipop trees, they've been with me for a few years now and they seem as if they will continue for awhile yet. They are popping up everywhere in my exhibition work.

I still have lots of hand stitching to add to them now. I hope to be adding some to my Etsy soon too.

Jacky and Patsy came to paint the other day, we are painting cylinders to place in the foyer of the exhibition space. Jacky's is fabulous, my photo doesn't do it justice, too much light.

It's not hard to guess who painted this one - the photos above show both sides.

I'm also making fabric collages from my hand dyed, sun printed fabrics then machine stitching around the main subject and machine stitching the writing. I've hand stitched all of the layers, these are then going to have a mount and be framed. I hope to do a series of these including the poppy seed heads and pomegranates.

Thanks again to everyone in the previous post for your lovely comments and words of encouragement, better get back to creating my forest.

I love those lollipop trees and the painted columns are stunning. They will be a great addition to the exhibition. Your little honesty piece is so sweet and will look very elegant when it is mounted and framed. I do like your machined writing - so much more artistic than an automatic machine alphabet. The exhibition will be a sure winner.

you go girl!

Seems like the lollipop trees have more to say.

Maybe they are part of your language, so stay with them.

I completely relate to this thing where an motif sticks around and wants to have its life with you Ro... it can seem baffling the sense that it is beyond the conscious self that inner urging.
Yet it does work and it is compelling for us too as viewers... it speaks! I have a thing for circles and ovals...
the mystery at times is so curious!

Hi Ro Well I think your lollipop trees look good enough to eat! If you keep going with these I might be tempted to call you the "Lollipop Tree Lady". I only get called "the Egg Lady" owning many chooks (LOL)!
No quite seriously wish you lots of luck for the exhibition and love your framed Honesty collage too!
Hugs,

These cylinders will be amazing in the foyer. I too find certain images 'showing up' in my work and it seems to be okay to play them out. I also like your framed series...exciting work!

Nothing wrong with Lollipop trees. Especially when you add in a few gumdrop gerbera's.
Hope all is well.
