This and That

I've had a couple of health issues this week but hopefully they will be sorted soon. I've added another necklace and a pair of earrings to my Etsy shop this week. They are made using some of my hand made beads and some lovely beads from Carolyn Saxby and Kimberly Rogers. They are sold separately, but they do match.

we finally had to replace the timber on our back deck and decided to extend it at the same time, it will now be almost twice it's original size, can't wait until it's finished, I have to climb down a ladder to go into the back garden at the moment until the steps are made

I desperately needed more storage space in my studio and noticed this galvanised metal set of shelves just sitting outside. I brought them in, cleaned them up and glued lots of scraps of my decorated papers to them, I still have to do the uprights but they look right at home in my studio

I also decided to tidy up my reels of threads, I didn't realise I had so many.

Thanks again for taking the time to drop by and for your lovely comments, talk soon

My Etsy Shop

I'm trying to add more things, on a regular basis, to my Etsy shop this year. I've just added a new necklace and earrings as well as three hand carved stamps.

this necklace is made from an eclectic mix of elements I had in my drawers of jewellery treasures, from my soldered china, a hand made fabric bead, some ethnic charms and beads, beautiful czech glass beads and charms from broken jewellery

this pair of earrings is made from some beautiful faceted czech glass beads. I hand wired the glass flower and brass bead cap. They are lovely and light to wear.

these are the hand carved stamps all original designs

Thanks again for stopping by and for your lovely comments

Happy New Year

I'd like to wish everyone a very Happy, Healthy and Creative 2014, I hope you all survived the festive season and are all recovered and ready for the year ahead.
It's hard to imagine the Northern hemisphere is suffering such freezing conditions. We are going through a heatwave, with temperatures predicted in the high 30's to low 40's, that's centigrade, for all of this week. Along with the heat comes the risk of bush fires, so we are all on high alert.

I was very honoured to be invited to teach at Art is You in August when it comes to Melbourne. I get to meet Seth Apter at last and also get to say hello again to Michael Demeng. I did one of his fabulous classes many years ago now when he came over here.

I'll be teaching Beyond Altered Books here are some photos from the sample book.

we will also be making foam stamps

I will also be teaching a necklace making class too, similar to the ones below

if you'd like to join me here's the link to the website
for all of the information and to register, I would love to see you there.

I will also be adding new things to my Etsy shop in the next few days.

Thank you all for visiting and for your lovely comments. I WILL endeavour to blog more this year.
